You can fly into either SAN (San Diego) or LAX (Los Angeles).
SAN is obviously closer and you could get away with not renting a car (see comments about car rentals at the bottom of this page).
LAX is about a 2-3 hour drive depending on traffic. If you stick to the Pacific Coastal Highway, you might not mind the drive but it will take you longer.
We do not have a room block. La Jolla is comprised of mostly boutique hotels that do not offer room blocks and the size of our wedding does not reach the minimums required to secure a room block. We highly recommend staying closer to the venue if possible in either a rental or one of La Jolla's many hotel options.
There are countless places to stay. Here is a map that highlights the areas events will be taking place. Bride and groom are staying over near Windandsea Beach (also where we will be hanging out the day after the wedding).
If you want to experience La Jolla how we always have, we recommend getting together with a few other guests and going in on a rental. There are countless options within all budgets and home styles. You'll also likely be able to snag a spot within walking distance to the venue! Remember - there is no parking available at the venue.
Located in the heart of La Jolla this is an excellent boutique hotel. Located 1 mile away from the Wedding Venue (a 20 minute beautiful walk along the coast if you're up for it). Has a rooftop bar with delicious apps and food and is walking distance to La Jolla Cave (aka where the sea lions are).
Oo lala! You fancy. La Valencia is a pink lady stunner. Celebrities have stayed here, so yes, this is one of the more expensive options. One of our favorite bars, La Sala Lounge, is located inside this hotel. Even if you don't stay here, it is absolutely worth wondering in and grabbing a cocktail in La Sala Lounge! They also recently opened up the Whaling Bar located at the front of the hotel.
Walking distance to Darlington House and the beach (literally on the water) and offer various room types including 2 bedroom suites.
Definitely more an old school vibe inside but it's in a great location for the weekends festivities. In the heart of La Jolla and easy to access Welcome Drink location and wedding venue.
You don't really need a rental car and to be honest parking can be an absolute nightmare in La Jolla. Uber/Lyft is reliable in this area. Unless you plan to drive up the coast or do some more exploring, we recommend passing on the rental car. Reminder: There is no parking (street or parking lot) at our wedding venue. We ask that everyone Uber. There will be a shuttle offered to those who RSVP yes to take them to the after party.
If you do opt to get a rental car, just know that you will have to take a shuttle to get to the rental car center. San Diego airport is (and still will be) under construction at the time of our wedding.
We will be providing an Uber voucher code as we get closer to the wedding that will assist in your transportation to and from our venue.
